Zu diesem Zeitpunkt haben die Kinder bereits ihr eigenes Naturkonzept aufgebaut. Es basiert auf direkten Erfahrungen, aber auch auf ihrem kulturellen und religiösen Hintergrund.
Japan und Amerika gelten als prominente Vertreter des östlichen bzw. westlichen Kulturkreises mit sehr unterschiedlichen Weltbildern. Doch schlagen sich diese nationwide so stark verschiedenen Zugänge zur Natur auch in den Umweltbildungskonzepten der Länder nieder? Gibt es in der japanischen Umwelterziehung andere Bildungsziele als in den Vereinigten Staaten? Lassen sich an diesen Zielen die ursprünglichen Ideen von Natur erkennen?
Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die nationalen Umweltbildungskonzepte Japans und der Vereinigten Staaten zu vergleichen, um Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede herauszuarbeiten. Diese sollen zeigen, ob die Umweltbildungskonzepte beider Länder kulturell beeinflusst sind oder ob es sich um eher universelle Ziele handelt.
Zusätzlich soll untersucht werden, ob sich das japanische Konzept im movie "Prinzessin Mononoke" widerspiegelt, da japanische Zeichentrickfilme, auch Animes genannt, ein sehr kulturspezifisches Medium der japanischen Gesellschaft sind.
